BCU Paddle Power Start 1 session 2 hours minimum entry Age 8
Any Monday, Tuesday or Friday evening, May to September, (times to be arranged).
Maximum 15 pupils, booked as a group by leader only..
COST:. 50p per BCU certificate, minimum
BCU Paddle Power Passport 6 sessions minimum entry Age 10
Saturdays 10.30 to 12.15 Course 'A' May 5th to June 9th.
Course 'B' June 16th to July 21st
Course 'D' Sept. 1st to Oct 6th .
Wednesdays 6pm to 7.45 Course ‘C’ May 2nd to Jun 6th.
COST £10 includes record card and BCU certificate.
BCU Paddle Power Discover
9 sessions minimum entry Passport and Age 11
Saturdays 9am to 11am Course 'E' ‘ May 5th to June 30th.
Course 'F' July 7th to 21st +.Sept 1st to Oct 6th
Wednesdays 6pm to 7.45 Course ‘F/1’ June 13th to July18th + Sept 5th to 19th
COST £10 includes record card and BCU certificate.
Junior Instructor 15 sessions minimum entry Discover and Age 12
Saturdays 10am – 12.15 Course ‘I’ March 17th and 31st. indoors + April 28th ,on lake. These three sessions essential
Then minimum of 12 sessions as assistant instructor on Passport courses, Saturdays or /and Wednesdays, dates as above
Cost £5 includes course certificate (= Scout Instructor badge) .
SEAL ( BCU Two Star )
18 sessions minimum entry Discover and Age 13
Saturdays 10am – 12.15
Course ‘H’ May 5th to July 21st +1 Sept 1st to Oct 6th Attend as many as possible
Cost £10 includes BCU certificate
Advanced Instructor 18 sessions
minimum entry Junior Instructor (+ Two Star or Discover ) and Age 14
Saturdays 10am to 12.15 or 9am to 10.30
Course 'J' May 5th to July 14th and Sept 1st to Oct 6th .
This is 18 Saturdays but you attend as many as you can. COST no charge
Three Star (Sea) Part One 18 sessions minimum entry Two Star and age 14
Saturdays 12 noon to 1.45
Course ‘G’ Theory, indoors February 25th March 3rd,10th . all three are essential.
hen practical May 5th to July 21st + Sept 1st to Oct 6th.. Attend as many as you can.
There will be at least 3 journeys which either end at 4/5pm or take place on Sundays (dates in advance)
Kayak rolling is also required.This cannot be taught at the lake --see below
You are not expected to complete in one year unless you are very strong and experienced.
COST £10 (+ BCU CERTIFICATE which is £10 BCUmembers, £20 non members when you pass )
Three Star (Sea) Part Two 18 sessions minimum entry
Three Star Part OneSaturdays 12 noon to 1.45
Course ‘G/1’ Theory revison. dates as above. Practical dates as above
Attend until you complete. No further charge.
BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue
(Minimum entry Two Star or Discover ) Age 15 to Adult
Course 'S' A Saturday in April or May 9am to 5 pm.This is a prelim to Level One Coach training.
COST £10. + BCU CERTIFICATE £5 BCU members, £8 non members.
Kayak Rolling St. Edmunds Scxhool. Tuesdays 8-9pm Jan to March COST £2 per session. Minimum 3 sessions.

B1 water permit. Training/assessment day. Saturday March 24th , 9am-4/5pm..
Entry -Mainly adults plus experienced 15/18 years,with 2 star or Discover or higher. Cost £5.
TASTERS = ’Paddle Power Start’ See above. This can only be booked by section leaders in writing ( telephone for a date first ) ONLY ONE SESSION PER UNIT
